I figured since I’m not ready to be out racing myself yet this year, I’d go shoot some of my friends who are.

I decided instead of getting the typical face shots, I’d focus on showing the motion involved in bike racing (and a little pain). I didn’t shoot a bunch, but here’s some I hope you enjoy. -t-

I’ve picked the topic for this Friday’s too, texture @ the Mill District

Well week one’s self-assignment is in the can, as they say. The topic of the day was lines and shapes. The chosen location was Downtown Bend.

After a stop at Star Bucks to fuel up on a tasty Caramel Macciatto, I began walking looking for interesting lines and shapes. I didn’t have to walk very far, basically right out SB’s front door was the statue of the man on the bench. I liked the intersecting lines that the sidewalk and the street made…so that’s where I started. After about 2 hours I had done a circle around downtown proper and called it a day. Enjoy, I’ll post more after next weeks “assignment”. -t-

(note: I started doing these weekly projects in the summer of 2009 to 1. re-examine the fundamentals of design 2. find cool place in/around town 3. have a small break from shooting sports. Each week I chose a different design element and location to shoot and spent a couple hours on the morning shooting only that element and only in that particular location.)

I was at Balloons Over Bend last Saturday and well let’s just say the Balloons weren’t over Bend that morning. So after bailing on the balloons, I decided to spend some time shooting the old logging equipment around the Old Mills district. Here are a few photos. Enjoy -t-
